After Insaniyat with Dilip Kumar in 1955, you never starred in a film with either of them.
That's because nobody offered us a film together. I would like to work with Dilip if a good script presented itself.
Who are the famous international personalities you recall meeting at the peak of your career?
I met the famous Hollywood comedian Danny Kaye at the Taj. Once, Kirk Douglas dropped in on my sets at Mehboob studios. Later, when I went to Los Angeles for a screening of Guide, I enjoyed Kirk Douglas's hospitality.
Raj Kapoor and I were the earliest Indians to visit Russia after the Iron Curtain was lifted. In 1954, we attended a film festival that screened my films Rahee and Aandhiyan while Raj Kapoor screened his Awaara. Awaara created a major uproar and made Raj Kapoor a craze in Russia.
