Sitting in her make-up van on the sets of her film, Swami, the actress says she now likes playing challenging roles. Swami is choreographer-turned-director Ganesh Acharya's debutant movie, which also stars Manoj Bajpai.
"I would like to do characters that suit my image and me," Juhi says. "And they should be challenging. Of course, I should like the script too. In Bas Ek Pal, I did not have a big role but I am the reason that the film happened. It's because of my affair with the other man that everybody gets involved. I was the integral part in the movie and that's why I did it."
"I was doing a lot of films earlier where the hero does everything I only dance around," she continues. "But now, I am doing films where I do something. My co-stars are not Aamir Khan, Govinda or Shah Rukh Khan. I am acting with lesser-known actors like Manoji (Bajpai) or Sanjay (Suri). But in a way it is good because it's a fresh experience for me. It would be odd for me to do roles suitable for a younger heroine now. You have to move on in life. These movies give me an opportunity to do more."
