Gangster
Truth be told, I am not a fan of Emraan Hashmi. The only reason I watched this film was because my friends seriously recommended it. I am not sure if this Anurag Basu movie was copied from a foreign movie. And frankly, I could not care less because it worked very well for me.
Bar dancer Simran (Kangana Ranaut) takes to alcohol when her adopted child is killed in a gang-feud and her gangster-lover Daya (Shiney Ahuja) goes absconding. Enter Aakash (Emraan), her knight-in-shining armour, a nightclub singer who gives her love and stability.
Daya returns to discover the turn of events, and promises to be a changed man. Caught between Daya's repentance, Aakash's love and her unborn baby with Aakash, Simran has to make some tough decisions.
Shiney shines in the role of a gangster. Kangana is a revelation. Emraan does nothing that he has not already done in his other movies before.
The music, besides the film, is excellent too.
