Did your opinion on the films that go to festivals change?
My approach to the films that win awards and that go to festivals changed completely. I realised that people who make those kinds of films were evolved. I began appreciating such films.
When you see Evano Oruvan, you will understand that the hero is just another gentleman, and not a hero. The hero is the policeman, and my character is his conscience. When you realise this, it hits you at a completely different level.
Till now, I believed that my profession was to make films that will entertain people, and not to educate them or make them think. With Evano Oruvan I realised that to get people involved in a film is also a form of entertainment.
What made you decide to be part of the remake?
This is my first remake. The moment I saw the film, I wanted to do it. I wanted to tell the audience, this is my story and this is also your story. I felt my life would not be the same after this. I will say this -- you will also change the way you look at life after this film.
