Preity Zinta in Salaam Namaste
She's Ambar -- a perky medical intern who doubles up as a radio jockey.
It's attraction at first sight when she bumps into Nikhil 'Nick' Arora (Saif Ali Khan). He ropes her to a live-in, but when she gets pregnant and refuses to abort, complications arise.
Instead of any contrived melodrama, Ambar's resolute attitude and refusal to indulge in self-pity makes her all the more inspiring. She takes complete charge of her life and upcoming baby -- healthy food, exercises, yoga, the works.
Ultimately, this is a Hindi film and Nick realises what a jerk he's been. One diamond ring and two babies later, we have a happy ending.
