Neerad directs Mammootty in Big B

Can you elaborate on the plot?

The movie begins with Bilal returning to Kochi after his Mumbai hiatus, during which he was serving as a bodyguard for Mumbai's underworld kings. Bilal was an impenetrable iron shield protecting hese crime lords.

On his return, he is welcomed by a Kochi where everything he held close to his heart, including his values and ideologies are treated as antique and outdated. His early life in Kochi and Mumbai is shown in flashback sequences during the narrative.

Situations so arise that Bilal is forced to assume the role of a bodyguard on his home soil, but for different reasons. At the same time, the movie holds equal prominence for family drama and sentiments and also has 4 melodious numbers, tuned by music director Alphonse.

Talking about songs, one of them seems to have been lavishly picturised, featuring more than 100 dancers from France and Russia. How does it fit into the narrative?

Yes, it is a dance sequence set in a heritage resort, and we had close to 200 international dancers and our main dancer was from France. She has been studying a number of dance forms including Bharatanatyam at Kalamandalam. She even changed her original name to Lakshmi after coming here. It will be a major highlight of the movie.
