What was working with Onir like?
I call him the silent dictator (smiles). Although he is very silent on the sets, he gets what he wants from his actors. I usually like to discuss things with the director before I go on the sets. Being a woman, I had issues with the emotional content of some scenes. I felt there were jumps in the emotions. After we discussed those issues, it was easy. He thinks out of the box, and that shows in his films.
You haven't been doing too many movies...
I have always been like that. I can't do anything and everything that comes my way. That's terribly boring. I keep shifting genres and roles. Getting good scripts everyday isn't possible. Honestly, I have reached that point in my life where I don't want to get out of my house unless it's worth it. I don't have time for anything mediocre. When I go to the sets, I need to feel great about doing the film.
After Bas Ek Pal, I have signed Rajkumar Santoshi's London Dreams, Vikram Bhatt's Speed and Sunil Advani's Non-stop Fun.
