Casting coups in Bollywood

Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, 2002

It is still a wonder how director K S Adiyaman convinced Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai to act in his film.

The film -- a remake of the Tamil Thotta Chinungi starring Revathy -- is about a husband who doubts his wife's loyalty. He thinks she has an affair with her best friend (Salman) who happens to be a singer.

The dialogues were bad, the script was inconsistent, and Madhuri hammed.

It took five years to complete the movie, and despite having almost as many stars as there are in heaven, it was a box office disaster.
