Khallas
It is the most stylish video I have shot.
RGV asked me if I wanted to do Khallas, after Kambakht ishq. He told me to hear it first, as it was a situational song. He told me he wanted a Pyar do pyar lo kind of song, where Rekha is singing, and some guys are dealing in drugs in the background.
I told him I wasn’t sure if it would work in today’s times, and made a music video for him instead. This became the USP of the film.
RGV wanted to be present while we were shooting the song. But I told him I become very conscious with him next to me. I told him I would show him the entire song after shooting it. So, he went home and the next day, he told me I was the first choreographer who had made him sit outside the sets of his film. All of us had a hearty laugh.
Isha had done a few films before Khallas, and this was her first item number. So, she was worried if it would work in her favour.
Khallas may look like a dance video, but she has not danced in it. The song required attitude, and that’s what we got from her. There was one sequence in which she is wearing only a shirt. This was a bit uncomfortable for her as there were a lot of people in the studio. I told think her to think as if the studio belonged to her father, and she did it with that attitude.
