Oscar history dictates that the big prize winner of the night, Best Film, also picks up awards for Direction and Screenplay.
In fact, over the last 20 years, this unwritten rule has only been broken five times. Here's a look at the films that were only worth one half of the top prizes:
1990
Best Film: Driving Miss Daisy
Best Director: Oliver Stone, Born On The Fourth Of July
Now this was a true rarity. Not only did Daisy director Bruce Beresford miss out on the direction prize, but he wasn't even nominated!
Stone's talent was hard to deny, but Fourth Of July featured a jaded and bitterly anti-American hero. Meanwhile, Daisy, a delightfully feel-good comedy of mixed races, was just the kind of film the Academy would like us to remember.
