Telugu cinema's outsider returns

July 27, 2006
Is music a strongpoint of Amma Cheppindi? Are you happy with the score?

A very strong 'yes.' If Keeravani's songs are a highlight, his background score leaves you speechless.

Is there a message you want to convey through the film?

Not really. The only people who make money on messages are cellular service providers. The film is an attempt to give the audience the experience I got when I conceived and completed the script: An emotional high.

You are involved in the production too. Was it tedious?

Production hassles are something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Luckily all those headaches were handled by another person, Urmila. Unluckily, she is my wife.

You are known as a different filmmaker. Will Amma Cheppindi be a different film?

Yes, Amma Cheppindi is far from run-of- the-mill. I would get bored doing routine stuff. And if I'm bored, the audience would be doubly bored.
