Why Kareena wore no make-up for Omkara

July 26, 2006
Konkona Sensharma, Indu

When I first showed her some outfits, she said that she wanted to wear them immediately! What else could you want from an actress!

And the moment she wore the clothes, she looked so comfortable. In the photo session, Vishal just said, 'Meri Indu mil gayi (I have found my Indu).'

Married women in UP tend to wear a lot of bright colours. Her character has a lot of shades. Indu suffers a lot in her marital life, yet she's very bubbly and cheerful about life. She wants to tell all the women that whatever hardships we have, we must bring meaning to our lives.

The way she wears saris is very different from the way Kareena wears one, after marriage. Indu is not educated, whereas Dolly is. So we show that through the way they drape saris.
