Was it difficult to sit in a taxi and emote?
We shot for 35 nights continuously, in a taxi. It was quite painful in the beginning, but one gets used to it. I felt claustrophobic from time to time. We were shooting from 7 pm to 5 am in Dubai. I was sleepy throughout the shoot and it took a lot of coffee to keep me awake.
It is very challenging for both the director and actor to be shooting in such a restricted space. The camera is placed in a particular area and the room for movement is minimal. If you move your head a bit more than needed, it will be out of frame or there will be a shadow, so one needs to be extremely careful.
What was working with Irrfan like? Do you think he will overshadow your character?
Completely! (grins) I respect him as an actor and I think he is a good performer. To see how both our characters really emerge, you will have to watch the film. The scenes between Irrfan and me were very intelligently written. This is my third film with him and we have known each other for some time now.
