Nicolas Cage has been dying to do a superhero film. A few years ago, the Oscar-winning actor wanted to get into Superman, but after that fell through, nothing could wrest him away from this Marvel Comics adaptation.

After several rewrites by David S Goyer, the comic book scriptwriter behind films like Batman Begins and the Blade trilogy, this is one dark adaptation that looks like it's ready to roll.

A very black comic book, Ghost Rider revolves around biker Johnny Blaze -- who spends his nights inflamed by hellfire wreaking relentless vengeance. On pretty much anybody.

Can't wait for the soundtrack.
