A peek at Netru Indru Naalai

It was in 1964 that director Sridhar made Kathalikka Neramillai (No time to romance) with Muthuraman, Ravichandran, Nagesh and Kanchana in the lead. It was the First Eastmancolor film developed and printed in Gemini Colour Lab, Madras.

The film ran for 192 days mainly because of its songs. Viswanathan Ramamurthy had composed the music, with Kannadasan's lyrics. The most famous song, of course, is Viswanathan, Vela Venam (Viswanathan, I want a job). Sabu Cyril who recreated the set used for the song including the balcony of a mansion, said, "My uncle had told me it was with this song that the concept of song picturisation changed in Tamil cinema. Prabhu Deva's father Sundaram was the choreographer."
