'Robert De Niro is our god'

Oscar-winner Angelina Jolie feels being paired with her friend Matt Damon in the espionage drama The Good Shepherd is itself something to be proud of. And then there was a bonus: the film was directed by Robert De Niro, who returns to direction 12 years after his debut hit, A Bronx Tale.

But if some journalists want to know what's the biggest difference between kissing Matt Damon and Brad Pitt, the outspoken actress is ready with her answer.

'One's a friend and one's my love,' she told Diane Sawyer on ABC's Good Morning America. 'In reality, both the people we're involved with couldn't have cared less about that (love scene) because they know us.'

Lips aside, the film narrates the birth of the Central Intelligence Agency viewed through the fictional life of a man called Edward Wilson who believed in America and was prepared to give his life for it. The Good Shepherd unrolls across North America on Friday, December 22. Movie fans will then decide if it is indeed a good film, and if Jolie and Damon have enough magic to keep it going through the crowded holiday season.
