Most of the films you are acting in are remakes.
Frankly speaking, I have no option. I cannot ask a producer not to do remakes. My priority is to make enough money so I can get into the production of films that suit my taste.
Another thing is, how I can prevail upon a producer who has made profits out of remakes? For instance, Bala Muttayya made money in Ramakrishna, in which I acted. The originals of some of the films I am doing now didn't appeal to me. But, producers come to me and say they are confident of achieving success with that subject.
My judgment has often been wrong and producers have been proved right in their choices. In these circumstances, it would be unfair for me to impose my choices on a producer. What I can assure is that, if I decide to direct a project, it will be my idea, although I cannot deny not being inspired by
other projects.
