Rakesh Roshan and Tina Munim played the betraying husband and conniving sister to the blindly trusting Smita Patil in Aakhir Kyon? which also starred Rajesh Khanna. The film went beyond infidelity to show its after-effects on the wife and her emergence as a self-reliant individual. With her characteristic vulnerability Patil was suitably cast in this melodramatic, yet effective, fare.
