Naveen Andrews: Sayid
The English Patient. Kama Sutra. Mighty Joe Young. Bride and Prejudice. Andrews has played major parts in them all.
Born in London, this actor was accepted at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama, winning his first role in author Hanif Kureshi's film, London Kills Me. His part in Wild West soon got him nominated as Most Promising Newcomer by the Evening Standard Drama Awards. Then came his big break -- opposite Juliette Binoche, Ralph Fiennes and Kristin Scott Thomas -- in the Oscar-winning The English Patient.
His role in the BBC's The Buddha Of Suburbia got him a Best Actor award at the San Remo Film Festival. There's a lot more coming up -- a role in the film Provoked with Aishwarya Rai, for one, and The Ten Commandments, a miniseries with Omar Sharif.
