The survivors include a mix of people -- a much-pregnant woman, a doctor, a drug addict, a soldier from the Republican Guard in Tikrit, Iraq, a con woman, and more. The island in which they are marooned has a mysterious creature, which showed how deadly it could be when it killed the pilot.

The series, which won an Emmy in the Best Drama Series category, is a hit already, and the second season is currently being shot.
