Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan in Chupke Chupke

Hrishikesh Mukherjee crafted this delightful, P G Wodehouse-esque classic with a botany professor posing as a chauffeur in order to flummox his wife's brother-in-law.

And while it is unthinkable to think of the baying-for-blood Dharmendra in a subdued role, the vintage Dharam was more than up to the task, playing Professor Parimal Tripathi with terrific elan and perfect comic timing.

Amitabh Bachchan played a great foil to the leading man as his awkward best friend, Sukumar Sinha, a professor of English literature forced to act as his friend, the botany man. Almost constantly bewildered, this is one of the actor's finest performances.

An unforgettable film.
