The show was hosted by Rakshanda Khan, an interesting choice, given that this is a film festival, and she has never done a film in her life. Well, not counting dubbing for the Hindi version of The Incredibles, that is!
Khan did a decent job, except she ended all her sentences with exclamation marks, and her voice rose in pitch and volume every time she made an announcement.
She showed remarkable poise after a blooper, when she called Himesh Reshammiya prematurely onto stage. As she walked into the wings, the audience could clearly hear her being yelled at, amid some rather violent stage whispers which were anything but quiet.
Rakshanda came back and resumed order, unphased. Also, unapologetic.
