Next on Matthew's resume came Contact, in 1997, with Jodie Foster, followed by Steven Spielberg's Amistad.
A year later, he wrote, directed and acted in a 20-minute short film called The Rebel. With other movies such as The Wedding Planner (2001), How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days (2003) and Reign Of Fire (2002), the actor who once washed dishes knew he had hit the big time.
