The plot: The film is based on a real incident in Kerala. A priest has an affair with a much younger woman. When the woman tries to distance herself from him, and gets married, the furious priest kills the girl. He is sentenced to death.

The controversy: Catholic organisations demanded that director Vinod Pande remove objectionable scenes (of intimacy between the priest and the woman) from the film.

The plot: A love story against the backdrop of the Godhra train carnage and the riots that followed in Gujarat in 2002.

The controversy: One of the characters in the film resembled Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Gujarat theatre owners decided against releasing the film.
