She has not given up theatre, and is right now doing a comedy play, Three Old Women.
"The three women in the play keep skipping generations. Sometimes, the grandma is the daughter and sometimes, the mother is the grandma! It is extremely rewarding as an actress where you have to perform all the three characters on stage, alternating as you go along," she says.
She loves dance, and learnt Bharatnatyam for five years. She is now learning Kathak. She practises for six hours a day. "It's like learning a four-year course in 40 days!"
The same meticulousness goes into her acting career as well.

Masumeh says that before chooses a role, she reads the script and listens to the director's interpretation of it. Only then does she make her decision. She has refused a few offers because she didn't want to do what the roles required, she adds.
"I want to be an actress first, and then a star," she says. "To be an actress is in your own hands, but to be a star -- that you cannot decide! Whatever is written in your fate will happen."
