Some scenes in the film look so different than how they were shot. My introduction scene -- you see it in the promos as well -- is a sunset shot. You won't believe how we shot it!
We were shooting in Ranikhet. My shot was over for the day and I thought I would watch the sunset before leaving. Just then, Ghai rushed to me and told me not to change my outfit. He started yelling, 'Isha! Quickly! Capture the sunset!'
He asked me to experiment with dance in front of the sunset, as he liked that shot. It was so sudden! Before I knew it, there were about 150 people swarming about me, including my mother (who was the choreographer) and cinematographer Ashok Mehta. Everyone was shouting at me at the same time. The hairdresser was yelling, 'Isha, ek baal hai', the makeup man was saying, 'Isha, kajal smudge ho gaya…'
We had only three minutes to shoot before the sun went down and we would lose the light. Imagine, in all that commotion I had to make a serene expression! I had to dance, and there was no music either! I am surprised how it turned out.
There is this other scene with Vivek, where I hug him in my imagination. It's a romantic sequence. Just the day before, he had fallen from a horse, and he had a cast on his hand. We had to be very romantic, and here, he had this huge cast on his hand. It was really funny. If you see it, you'll never realise that his hand was in a cast.
