4 The People was the biggest commercial success of 2004. A small budget film with new faces and an unknown music director was really nobody's bet to set theatres on fire!

After the film was made, Jayaraj could not find a distributor. Nobody was willing to touch the music either. The filmmakers had to give the songs free to television channels. Once the song Lajjavathiye started appearing on the channels, Kerala went wild. No song had the kind of impact Lajjavathiye had on Kerala, and music director Jassy Gift became an instant rage!

Artistically, the movie was a disappointment. But because of the unprecedented success the film and its audio had at the box-office, it will always be remembered.
