Tell us about your character.

All characters are life-like. They are not black and white, but grey. They are multi-layered and complex. At the same time, they are human. I keep saying this is a reflection of life.

Very often we live the situation and when the moment passes, we wonder about it. You wonder whether what happened was meant to be, whether you were right or if that moment was right. It is human to blame a situation or even to feel guilty.

Another important aspect of the film is the mind. How the mind works on the matters of heart. It has been played well by Sanju, the protagonist.

Shabd is about discovering your personality, about discovering yourself. My character keeps questioning herself. This film earns the label of being different because of the way Leena made it. She has not thought about parallel, commercial or festival kind of cinema.

As actors, we can explore. I can do a Paro in Devdas, a Neeru in Raincoat and an Antara in Shabd again! I am getting various opportunities. It takes guts for a debutant director to make this film.
