Nagesh Kukunoor has more than proved his talent with Hyderabad Blues and Teen Deewarein. His new film, Iqbal, which releases Friday, August 26, has a good buzz about it.

Wouldn't you love to watch this talented director work with Amitabh Bachchan?

Well, it almost happened.

Two years ago, Nagesh announced an unusual film, Tandoor, with Bachchan. AB was to play a chef in a New York restaurant. But nothing has been heard of it since then. Is the project still on?

"Tandoor is still on," says Nagesh. "But there is a specific time for movies. Two years ago was the right time for Tandoor. I even got Mr Bachchan's dates."

So what went wrong? "I had creative differences with the producer. That's why it was called off."

Well, as long as it's still on...
