As the Marvel superheroes enjoy the spotlight, its time for DC's darkest knight to make a comeback.
Since Tim Burton broke new ground and successively lost it entirely, the Bat has been a cliché, a vengeful, black-clad man, living in the company of a lycra-clad teenager and an old butler.
But if anyone can dispel the [not unjustified] rumours of homosexuality, it looks to be Christopher Nolan, the man who took Guy Pearce to new levels in the cult-spawning Memento.
With Christian Bale (Empire of the Sun, American Psycho, as the newest to wear the mask, one is sure it won't be a Catwoman-sized disaster. Or is one?
