The Grudge

If Japan's Ringu could drop the last letter and scare VCRs across America, could this chiller be far behind?

Ju-On: The Grudge, by far the scariest film of 2003, goes Hollywood, complete with the perfunctory screaming Sarah Michelle Gellar. The positive, though, is that original director, Takashi Shimizu, also helms the remake.

Japanese horror, like Manga and Anime, has spawned cult followings across the west, and this film, in its original form, induces severe chills, something lacking from an over-Shyamalan'd Hollywood. The ever-enjoyable Bill Murray is an unfailing plus, and this is fear-fare to look forward to.
