1. Main Hoon Na

The year 2004 saw big directors faltering at the helm, but Farah Khan stepped up to the plate with panache.

With good buddy SRK pouring in the crores, Farah's Main Hoon Na is a misunderstood spoof, where she affectionately, and constantly, references all the films she -- and most of us -- grew up watching. Agreed, it may not be subtle, but it is an endearing tribute to films we've all, at some point, obssessed upon.

Plus, it has a ravishing Sushmita Sen, some rather decent youngsters, Zayed Khan and Amrita Rao, and the inimitable Shah Rukh Khan.

When you watch the film again, look out for the scene where Zayed is hanging from the roof and SRK is dashing to the rescue: the music playing is from the Omen saga, from when the nurse is hanged from the roof. Brilliant!
