Kareena plays: Kaurwaki, princess of Kalinga. While in hiding with her brother (Suraj Balaje) and bodyguard (Rahul Dev), she stumbles upon Shah Rukh's character and falls in love with him. Kaurwaki has a big hand in making the battle-lusty emperor Asoka denounce war forever.

Trivia: The film may not have worked at the box-office, but Kareena once said that, among her co-stars, she shared the best chemistry with Shah Rukh and the evidence was Ashoka.
