I can't say 'yes' to all the scripts that come my way. I can do a maximum of two or three films [in a year]. So I choose films that are different from one another."

"Devdas was a very intense film," she says. "After that, I didn't want to do another serious film."

"I took up [Rituparno Ghosh's] Chokher Bali which was very different. And it was a Bengali film. I also chose Gurinder Chadha's Bride And Prejudice because it was an international film. I signed [Rajkumar Santoshi's] Khakee because it did not demand too much of my time. Rajji gave me a moment in the film.

"So I thought I'll do Kyon! Ho Gaya Na... because it had a fun element."
