1994
Manisha Koirala and Arvind Swamy belong to different faiths. They fall in love and elope to Bombay to get married. Twin sons later, just as life is settling down for the couple, Bombay is engulfed by communal riots.

Sepia
After the success of Roja, Mani Ratnam goes one step further to delicately hone a tale of love in a time of religious violence. He is careful to not favour any one religion over the other, but zealots from both communities protest and he is forced to make compromises in the film. Bombay is a resounding success.

Uncut
Lest we forget! The film chronicles the incidents that wreaked havoc in Bombay in December 1992 and January 1993. The riots left hundreds dead and thousands homeless.
