Anil Kapoor loves Sridevi, who loves and marries Deepak Malhotra. The couple have a daughter, but die in an accident soon after. Anil becomes Sridevi Jr's guardian, but leaves her in India to be brought up by Waheeda Rehman. He returns to London to escape the memories of his love. Sridevi grows up and falls in love with him. The movie ends predictably.

Sepia
Yash Chopra is considered a master of illusion. The lack of critical respect for his films is amply compensated for by the financial returns.

Uncut
Lamhe does not do well. The reason could be the subject matter that lingers on the fringes of incest. It does not go down well with the audience. The film is one of Yash Chopra's few failures.
