Infosys, Wipro, TCS on fire!

Infosys Technologies on Tuesday reported a 48.64 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 447.37 crore (Rs 4.473 billion) for the second quarter ended September 30, 2004, over Rs 300.98 crore (Rs 3.009 billion) posted in the corresponding period last year.

The Bangalore-based Infosys reported revenues of Rs 1,749.33 crore (Rs 17.493 billion) for the period between July to September, an increase of 51.88 per cent over Rs 1,151.80 crore (Rs 11.518 billion) during the same period last year.

Software major Wipro on Friday posted a net profit of Rs 411.70 crore (Rs 4.117 billion) for the second quarter ending September 30, up by 79 per cent over Rs 230.20 crore (Rs 2.302 billion) reported during the same period last year.

The NYSE-listed Wipro posted revenues of Rs 1,978.50 crore (Rs 19.785 billion) for the period July to September 2004, up by 44 per cent over Rs 1,374.50 crore (Rs 13.745 billion) during the second quarter last year.

IT giant Tata Consultancy Services has reported a 51.8 per cent rise in its net profit at Rs 342.19 crore (Rs 3.421 billion) for the second quarter ended September 30, 2004 over same period last fiscal.

The total income for the reporting quarter stood at Rs 2,044.82 crore (Rs 20.448 billion), TCS chief S Ramadorai said in Mumbai on Wednesday.
