IN DEFENCE OF GLOBALISATION: Bill Clinton, former US President (1993-2001) and founder of the William Jefferson Clinton Foundation, was jetlagged and short of sleep when he took centre-stage at the Annual Meeting 2004 of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
He enthralled the meeting with a fine presentation linking the celebration of India to the debate on globalisation.
He referred to the recently concluded meeting of the World Social Forum in Mumbai, saying that he sympathised with the criticisms levied against globalisation, but believed that the anti-globalisers did not have the right answers.
