STEEL POWER: Positioning itself at the 8th spot in the list, Tata Iron & Steel Co Ltd witnessed an increase of 194.6 per cent in its market cap in 2003. The company, which had a market cap of Rs 5,563 crore (Rs 55.63 billion) in January 2003, finished the year at Rs 16,385 billion (Rs 163.85 billion), a smart gain of Rs 10,822 crore (Rs 108.22 billion).
Tisco, which was established in 1907, produces one of the cheapest hot-rolled coils in the world.
