The inaugural function had a mix of modern and traditional elements. While employees waved pom-poms and danced to a beat of techno music, a folk dance livened up the atmosphere.
Called Dholu Kunitha, it is a folk dance of Karnataka presented by men and is marked by heavy drumbeats.
Guests, including the German Ambassador to India, Heimo Richter who flew to Bangalore for the function, and Dr Peter Zencke, executive board member, SAP, were welcomed with the traditional tilak.
Garlands of marigold hung inside the buildings and the guests were treated to another folk dance by the employees.
