The N85 is a slider like the N96 and in some ways a more exciting phone with some truly innovative features. Top on the list is a 2.6 inch OLED screen. Compared to regular LCD technology, OLED uses less power but produces better contrast and colour as well as a brighter display with a bigger viewing angle.
The N85 is being promoted as a gaming device and will launch with 10 pre-installed games as well as dedicated gaming keys. In addition it has a touch-sensitive 'navi wheel’ which will be useful for scrolling through your media collection a bit like on an iPod.
Another interesting feature is an inbuilt FM transmitter which allows you to listen to the music on your phone on your FM radio in your car. The bottom line is that the N85 may well be the best multimedia phone in the N series when it's released.
One possible shortcoming: its very thin keys which some users may find awkward especially for heavy texting or writing e-mails.
