Rajesh Karkera
The Future of Indian Fashion

Under the guidance of designer Wendell Rodricks, 10 budding designers presented their lines on Day Four of the Lakme Fashion Week. These are the GenNext designers -- the newest kids on the block. In a show that was astoundingly good, and had the audience hooting and whistling in appreciation, these young, talented men and women brought a new and fresh flavour to the Lakme Fashion Week. Here's a look-see...

First up was designer Imchatsung Imchen, a young man from Nagaland, who used tribal colours and hues in his collection. In his words, "I'm trying to tell a story about my culture through my collection."

Seen here is a pair of tartan shorts with a plain white shirt. The striped suspenders are an interesting touch.
