Nina Manuel, a model who has successfully made the switch from the runway to top television shows, still walks the ramp on occasion. This week, she's walking for the likes of Tarun Tahiliani, Narendra Kumar and Sabyasachi. Here, she catches up with rediff.com:
On her outfit
The are DVB (David Victoria Beckham) pants. The top, I don't know! My shoes are Dior and my handbag is Gautier. As far as brands, I like to mix and match. I don't have any brand that's 'mine'. Also, I don't always wear top brands or anything. But I still like to indulge every once in a while.
On her fashion sense:
I don't have a fixed fashion mantra. Basically, if it looks good, I'll wear it. But, most of the time, I like wearing jeans and a t-shirt or shorts and a top.
On working in the fashion and entertainment industries:
It's a fun job. You are your own boss, which is nice. You get to meet lots of interesting people and fly to different places. In general, it's a challenging and rewarding job. And it pays well, too. I just bought a house!
On four fashion weeks:
Four fashion weeks would be fine if they were more spread out and held at different times of the year. Right now, they're too close together.
On size zero and the fashion industry:
Well, I'm not a size zero, and I'm doing fine! It's true that you have to be fit, but you definitely don't have to be a size zero or anything.
On fitness:
I try to exercise 5 to 6 times a week. And I eat healthily when I can. But it's not always possible, as I'm very busy these days.
