Our first stop was by a lake in the park. A pond heron was dozing and two white throated kingfishers (one with a catch) were sitting on a branch of a tree a little distance away.
A little egret flew over the lake. The atmosphere was absolutely serene and I could hear the whisper of the trees.
Knowing that sighting a tiger or a leopard is entirely a matter of luck, we were gradually getting restless. Just when we thought it was not our lucky day the driver slowed down the vehicle. There we saw two leopards!
The female was perched on a tree and the male was down in a gorge encircled by rocky terrain.
We decided to visit the park again early next morning. It was still dark outside when we got a wake up call at 5.30 am. It was also very peaceful.
We entered the park at 6.15 am hoping to see a tiger.
