The most romantic gift I've received: Once again my crazy ex from San Diego -- four years ago, he surprised me with one hundred red roses, while I was in the office. He had one delivery man bring me one rose to the office, then another, then another, then another; I was going nuts! I was like, "What is up?" and "Who is doing this?" Then he finally showed up with the other 80 roses!
The best gift I've given is my heart, loyalty, love, care, attention and all, topped up with a Versace set of many things in one box, like a shirt, tie, scarf, a ring, watch and stuff, along with roses and a card. But now that I think about it: the best gift must've been when I renovated an entire room and organised my ex's pictures, all in 10 nice albums. Imagine how long it took me to do all that!
Ever been depressed on Valentine's Day? And tell us about the worst gift you ever received!
My saddest Valentine's moment was when all my friends were going out to dinners one year and I had just broken up with my ex.
There’s no 'worst' gift I've been given. But I hate it when someone gets you a gift just for the sake of it. I would love it if he put thought into it, and considered my style and taste as well.
Any gift ideas for guys and girls? How can they surprise a significant other? Jewellery? Chocolates? Flowers? Something else?
It depends what stage of the relationship you are in. Sure, jewellery is fine, if you are serious; chocolates, flowers, cards are always options.
You can take him or her for a helicopter ride; or on yacht for a dinner. Send a message by airplane and have it written it in the sky! Have a bunch of kids deliver flowers to his or her house. Go to a sports match and write a message on a board. Then, ask the announcer to shout it out. There are many more ideas.
I would personally prefer a nice trip to an exclusive island, dinner on the beach with a mariachi band playing, with my favorite menu, rose petals and candle light and a nice walk on the beach. Tangible gifts have no meaning. I just prefer that quality time.
Any advice for the single guys and girls out there on Valentine's day?
Hey, it is not end of the world. You are single for a reason. Valentine's Day should not make one feel miserable. Just think of it as another day. If you have one special person, it’s nice to celebrate. If you don’t; celebrate with friends and family.
Is Valentine's day a legitimate holiday, or just a tool marketers use to make money?
I think it is a marketing strategy, like many other holidays on the calendar.
