Avoid lenses if you...
Before trying out colured lenses, make sure you:
Have enough tear secretion (liquid released from the tear gland, which helps keep the eye moist. In conditions like glaucoma, the tear glands are unable to secrete tears).
Are not prone to eye infections like conjunctivitis.
Do not have a prior scar or damage to the cornea.
Do not have a completely outdoor job that exposes you to dust and pollution.
Do not work in a factory that has gas fumes or other eye irritants.
A word of caution
Opticians warn against the following:
~ Using other people's lenses.
~ Stretching the use of your lenses beyond the stipulated period.
~ Not maintaining hygiene of your lenses.
~ Using them for prolonged periods without giving your eyes a rest.
