Those looking for solitude, adventure, excellent service, great food and wildlife need not look any further.

But the star attraction is the jungle safari -- both in an open jeep and atop an elephant's back. Though we missed the elephant ride, we got to go for the jeep one which took us deep into the Nagarhole National Park for a look at deer, elephants, wild dogs, bison, peacocks, wild boars and a variety of birds. If you're lucky you might even catch a glimpse of a tiger or leopard.

Unlike other popular tourist haunts, these jungles have remained 'untouched' and this is mainly due to the fact that only the jungle jeeps are allowed to enter the jungles. There was no littering of plastic bags and cola bottles here...thank god!
