She first walked the ramp at the Lakme India Fashion Week 2005 for designer Suneet Varma. Today, Deepika Padukone is one of the hottest models on the scene and has strutted her stuff for all top designers in the country.
We had a chance to catch up with her backstage at the recent Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week in Delhi, while she was preparing for Deepika Govind's show.
"Fame and recognition gives me a high, but emoting in front of the camera is the best," she says. The modelling profession also has downsides though, and Deepika has some insightful advice for aspiring models.
"At the end of the day, your job is about looking good and appearing fresh," she adds. "Discipline is a must if you plan on being in this industry for a long time."
