Hit the beach

It is not advisable to swim in the sea, which tends to get very choppy during the monsoons. However, you have other options.

Watching the sea at high tide is a treat at the Anjuna and Vagator beaches, especially when the waves hit the rocks. The sound is like music to your ears.

You can also play beach volleyball and beach football; I noticed quite a few people playing football at Miramar beach and volleyball at Calungute beach.

I totally loved the experience of reading my favourite books lounging on the sparsely populated beaches.

Tucking into spicy Indian and Chinese meals in the many shacks by the sea while it poured, was a delicious experience.
