10. Wine
It has been proved that red wine, when drunk in moderation (1 or 2 glasses daily) can have positive health benefits due to its high levels of immunity-boosting antioxidants plus its cholesterol-lowering effects.
But people seem to have misunderstood this advice. Somehow, red wine has become the drink for the 'dieting partygoers', under the misconception that it is calorie free. The more you have, the more the health benefits you will receive.
Let's get one thing straight: all alcohol, including wine, is high in calories.
1 gram of alcohol equals 7 calories, making it almost as calorie heavy as fats (1 gram of fat is 9 calories).
Thus, binge drinking can totally throw a calorie controlled diet off track.
The only advice I can give you, as far as alcohol goes, is, if you have to drink, do it in moderation. Make sure not to drink and drive!
